Ruston Real Estate

Ruston is a small city in Pierce County, Washington. It is a little known residential city that lies in the shadow of its engulfing neighbor, Tacoma. Ruston only recently became classified as a city by the local government in 2012, and as a result, it still clings on to its rural nature. The city has a small population, recording figures of 749 at the 2010 census.  The city is bordered in the north by Puget Sound and on the other three sides by Tacoma.


Life in Ruston embraces nature with the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain Range visible from both neighborhoods and commercial centers. Being small in population, territory as well as primarily residential, housing is affordable, with a majority of the residents owning their own homes. The schools in Ruston are highly rated, and the city is home to the Science & Math Institute and Wilson High School andTacoma School of the Arts.


The city has a lot of love for art and culture and has lots of open spaces and parks where communal gatherings, festivals, and ceremonies are held.  Once known solely for its smelting works, the city has grown. It now features residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational facilities, such as the Cushman Trail Route, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and the Dash Point State Park. It is generally safe with low crime rates, and the residents are very welcoming and endearing.
