Sammamish Real Estate

Earning its name from a neighboring lake and located in King County is Sammamish, a city situated on a plateau. It is one of the more recently incorporated cities in Washington, having been granted clearance to become a city in 1999. Being close to the Lake, the city has an oceanic climate. According to the 2010 census results, the city had a population of roughly 46,000, making it densely populated. The area was quite rural until the influx and increase of schools, shopping centers, and suburban homes in the ’70s and ’80s. The city is about 18 miles from Seattle by road.

The city has landmarks almost as much as it has people with three golf courses, including the 27-hole Sahalee Country Club golf course, two shopping centers, and a 101,000sq ft strip mall. The city has no shortage of parks with the Big Rock Park and the East Sammamish Park among a handful of recreational options available to residents.

The Seattle Times reports Sammamish as the nation’s richest city, topping even San Francisco. The high earning ability of this city is evident in the ownership ratios of homes by its residents as a vast majority of the houses are owned as opposed to being rented. Residents are highly educated and diverse both in age groupings and ethnicity; the culture and love for fun are also abundant as parties and festivals regularly feature in the city’s schedule.
