Tukwila is a suburban town in Washington. It is located in Kings County and is part of the cities in the Seattle metropolitan area. Tukwila borders Seattle and is only 11 miles away by car. The city is home to a diverse population, which gives it a unique cultural blend. As at the 2010 census, the city had a population of about 19,000 people and is widely renowned as the transport hub of the northwest because of its proximity to many highways, rivers, and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Tukwila’s location has made it an ideal commercial center causing big companies like Boeing and Microsoft to have facilities in the city.

Tukwila is also home to Puget Sound’s largest shopping complex, known as the Westfield Southcenter, the University of Phoenix, Costco, and the Museum of flight. Asides its transport, employment, and educational facilities, Tukwila has a handful of recreational spots, among which are the Tukwila Family Fun Center & Bullwinkle’s Restaurant, the Highline SeaTac Botanical Gardens and the Seattle Chocolate. Tukwila is colorful and has a beautiful environment and a host of diverse communities residing there, which adds spice to the city’s culture. It is also very affordable and homely, which is why it features such diverse makeup in population. It is referred to by some as “a community of communities.”
